Asset Creation

Took over UI design and UI Art + became the keeper of the Civ 6 UI during the final years of Civ 6 Development.
I was on for most of the project lifespan, made A LOT of UI assets. Created and maintained styles already developed.

Civics Icons
Notification Icons: Positive and negative
Unit Actions
Unit Portraits: Taken from in game assets and cleaned up to read at a small size.
Wonders: Taken from In Game Assets, appears in the city production menus.

Managing assets

Wrangling UI Art asset. This project was different since there were so many situations and systems when assets can happen.
This was when I really took over to figure out organization and started to come up with better ways to export and find assets.

So many Icons in different places, bugs would come in, or marketing would ask for an asset and I could find pretty quickly.
Adapted a lot over time to find better, faster ways to polish or export and maintain all UI art assets.

Civ Symbols Galore

I had each of these go through legal, approval process was strict. Civ Colors go through a bunch of different teams.
Colors appear on unit flags, city banners, 3d models like buildings and units.

So much fun

It was awesome to make these little unlock images for civics and technologies.
Or switch styles to work on improvements, or paint over 3d assets like units and buildings.

Outsourcing

This was the first project where I worked with outsourcing.
There were growing pains with timing or quality, but we always tried to break tasks down or document better to make the process clearer to get better results
